HSE Risk Assessments – Workplace
Essential for effective Health & Safety management in all types of business, workplace risk assessments will identify potentially hazardous areas and business activities. Our Health and Safety Consultant looks at the health and safety risks to people involved in each of those areas and activities, taking relevant health and safety regulations into account. (Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, Regulation 3).
In some cases, the general risk assessment will point to a need for more detailed risk assessments for specific hazards, in which case we can arrange these for you too.
Health & Safety Competent Person Service
Regulation 7 of the Management of Health at Work Regulations 1999 requires organisations to nominate a Competent Person to assist and advise them in health and safety matters.
We can act as your “Competent Person” providing a cost effective way to meet your obligations and also give you the benefit of advice and guidance from trained professionals, just when you need it.
Health & Safety Policy Advice and Implementation
If your business employs 5 or more people, you are obliged to have a fully documented H&S policy, which is communicated to your employees. Our Health & Safety Consultant can draft these for you and advise you on implementation and ongoing management.
Safe Systems of Work – Method Statements
Safe systems of work are also know as working procedures, standard operating procedures and method statements.
Their purpose is to identify and document the way work should be done by your employees in order for them to work safely, particularly with regard to hazardous work processes.
All employers are required by law to implement Safe Systems of Work. We recommend a structured process to identify the relevant activities and hazard, then carry out a risk assessment on each one, using the findings to identify and document your procedures.
