NOISE ASSESSMENTS:
The Noise
at Work Regulations
1989 require
an employer
to consider
the daily
exposure of
noise levels
to its employees
-
"At 85
dB (A) - ear
protection
must be provided
if required
by employees.
On reaching
90 dB (A)
ear protection
must be provided
and must be
worn, it is
an offence
not to do
so".
From February
2006 the "Action
Levels"
will be reduced
by 5 dB (A).
At each level
- employers
will be required
to account
of these changes
and modify
their ear
protection
policy and/or
conduct a
new assessment.
ISI technical
staff are
available
on 01675 481779
to assist
you with these
forthcoming
changes.
ISI can determine
what, if any,
noise control
is required.
Utilising
acoustic measuring
equipment
provide a
full site
survey. Produce
a comprehensive
report of
the findings
and possible
solutions.
This protects
the employer
from future
claims relating
to loss of
hearing by
employees.
This is becoming
more important
as society
becomes increasing
litigious,
a phenomenon
fuelled by
the "no-win-no-fee"
solicitors.

We can provide
a "Third-Party"

PRE-PURCHASE

of plant,

to: condition,
value and
compliance
with essential
UK safety
requirements
including
imports for
UK usage.
PLANT
AND MACHINERY
RISK ASSESSMENTS:
The Provision
and Use of
Work Equipment
regulations
- PUWER 1998,
require a
risk assessment
to be carried
out on all
work equipment.
The Lifting
Operations
and Lifting
Equipment
Regulations
- LOLER 1998
requires all
lifting operations
to be assessed
for riks and
lifting procedures
documented
and through
examination
of all lifting
equipment.
We can assist
in all of
these areas,
providing
risk assessment
and thorough
examination
compiled by
a qualified
surveyor.
IDENTIFICATION
SURVEY FOR
STATUTORY
PLANT INSPECTIONS:
With the ever
increasing
level and
complexity
of legislation
today, together
with various
updates and
changes, it
is often difficult
to ensure
that the employer
/ user / owner
is not outside
of the law.
We can alleviate
this problem
by providing
a site survey
and inventory
of all plant
which requires
inspection
by a competent
person.
